“For the Love of Gardening”

Come enjoy Southern hospitality amid the vibrant color of azaleas and spring flowers during the 61st Annual Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour© in the beautiful coastal region of Wilmington, North Carolina. An official event of the North Carolina Azalea Festival, the tour is one of the longest running and most popular garden tours in the South.

The 2014 tour features 13 gardens (12 private and the beautiful public Airlie Gardens) that offer an exciting mix of garden designs to inspire all gardeners. The variety of garden styles on the 2014 Azalea Garden Tour range from a relaxing retreat Balinese garden to traditional formal landscapes, charming cottage gardens, and expansive waterway estates.

Take time to enjoy the wonderful Airlie Gardens, a New Hanover County gem, open to tour ticket holders on both Saturday and Sunday this tour year. The tour opens Friday, April 11 at 10:00 am with the colorful Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Hugh Morton Amphitheater at Greenfield Lake, 1941 Amphitheater Drive. Greenfield Lake is surrounded by many beautiful mature azaleas, the perfect setting for the more than a hundred Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Belles©.

Immediately following the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, the Queen’s Garden Party will be held at the adjacent Dr. Heber W. Johnson Rotary Garden at Greenfield Lake. Bus shuttle service will be provided to attendees from Legion Stadium, 2221 Carolina Beach Road.

Take a sneak peak at this year’s gardens at the Cape Fear Garden Club online site.

Tickets are available from many retailers in the area and will be available at each garden during the tour. Tickets are $25, good for all 3 days, and include a map for a self-guided tour with descriptions of each garden. Gardens are open 10:00 am until 6:00 pm daily and children under 12 enjoy free admission with a paid adult. Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Belles© will welcome visitors to each garden throughout the three-day tour. You may also order tickets online at PayPal.
